Namche Bazzar is the main Sherpa village and it is very old trade center of this area. Have a rest in the afternoon and enjoy walking around the village.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
5 Day: Namche Bazaar - Aclimatizing Day: Namche Bazaar is a village lying at the junction of the Dudh Koshi and a lateral valley that leads to frontier pass of Nangpa La 5500 meters. It is tucked away in a "bowl" at a height of 3440 meters. The first Europeans entered it in 1950 and many more have come since then. However, the basic character of the village remains unchanged. It has an airplane landing strip high above and a temple with a stream of clear water flowing past it. Prayer flags, inscribed with words "Om mani padme hum" flutter from every rooftop and every house has a cottage industry where Yak wool is spun and woven into carpets. Facilities like a bank, a post office, hotels and shops where one can purchase climbing equipment as well as tinned food have sprung up over the years. Namche Bazaar is the major regional training center, and contains the headquarters of the Sagamartha (Nepalese for Everest) National Park. There is plenty to do around Namche Bazaar and a day should be spent here acclimatizing
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Day: Namache to Thame (3820m): This day is meant for acclimatization and hence we do not embark on any serious trekking. Instead we go to a slightly lower altitude of Thame, the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the first man on Everest. We conduct some sightseeing of the monastery there and generally rest.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
7 Day: Thame to Taranga –Lungden: Today we start our serious high altitude trekking. We walk for about 4 hours through a stunning landscape on an old trade route to Tibet to the village of Lungden. This village has only one lodge and very aptly called the Renjo La Support Lodge.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
8 Day: Cross Renjo la Pass (5435m) to Gokyo (4750m: The big day starts real early and it is a long day, as we have to walk about 5 hours to reach the pass, going slow because of the high altitude. After a brief stopover to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Everest Range and take photographs, we start on a remarkably difficult downhill journey for about 3 hours to reach the village of Gokyo walk along the stunning and beautiful Dudh Kunda (milk lake).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
9 Day: Gokyo Ri (Gokyo Peak) Excursion return Gokyo The foot of Gokyo Ri lies five minutes away from the stream the feeds the Gokyo Lake. After two to three hours walk you reach the summit not to be disappointed for your effort at all, as the views from here are well worth the effort you put in. Everest (8848m), showing more of it's northern flank than from Kalapatthar, with Makalu (8475m) further to the east and Cho Oyu (8153m) towards the north make a mesmerizing view to watch. Return back to Gokyo Ri after spending a wonderful break at the summit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
10 Day: Gokyo to Thagna (Dragnag) (4700m) From Gokyo the trail descends, looking at the views of the fine mountains and natural beauty, towards Thangna which is consider as the base of Cho -La Pass (5330m)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
11 Day: Thagna (5330m) to Dzonglha (4830m) Today the trail descends again and leads you across the moraine, to the glacier which you must cross. From here you can see a beautiful view of the icefall before you reach Dzongla.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
12 Day: Dzongla trekking to Lobuche (4920m) The trail continues along the moraine from Dzongla affording you splendid views of Kala Pattar and Pumori before you reach Lobuche.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
13 Day: Lobuche – Kalapatter – Gorak Shep: After an early rise have a short trek to Gorak Shep where we will have breakfast and some tea before beginning the walk up to Kala Pattar. (5545m)A gradual ascent enables you to build the slow, steady rhythm required when walking at high altitude. From the lodge the ascent is quite steep, so start very slowly and try to ascend at steady rhythmic pace. Our goal Kala Patar, is the rocky hilltop below Pumori. It is a tough walk, but the view from the top surpasses the wildest imagination. It will probably take a good hour and a half to reach the summit from Gorak Shep, although lower viewpoints will provide views almost as good. Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse, Ama Dablam, Taweche, Kantega and Everest - the highest mountain in the world, and some 200 metres below, the area of the Everest Base Camp can be seen in a bowl at the bottom of the Khumbu Ice Fall. For many trekkers, reaching Kala Pattar is a very emotional experience and it is worthwhile spending as long as you wish to savour this special moment. The descent back down to Gorak Shep evening we camp beneath Kala Pattar at Gorak Shep
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
14 Day: Gorak Shep to Lobuche: after the breakfast start to descend by a nice trailwalking through rockky and glacical walk where the mumbers of climbers gathers for climbing Everest. It would take approx 4 hrs gp back to Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
15 Day: Lobuche -Pangbuche: From Lobuje we re-trace our steps to Dughla: it seems much quicker and easier going down! From here we take a different route from our ascent, following the wide alpine valley covered in scrub juniper through to the temporary settlement of Phulung Karpo (4343m), and then to Pheriche. There is also a Trekkers' Aid Post here, supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association which, although not manned year round, is well worth a visit if open. From Pheriche we cross the Khumbu Khola and ascend a short steep trail to the top of a small ridge for great views of the Imja valley, Ama Dablam and Kantega. We then descend to the small settlements at Orsho and Shomare, and then to Lower Pangboche to our Lodge
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
16 Day: Pangboche - Namche Bazaar: After breakfast we descend steeply through beautiful forest of juniper, rhododendron and fir to Thyanboche and then down again to Phunkitenga. After a welcome break and perhaps a cup of tea we cross the Dudh Kosi, and ascend to Trashinga. From here the trail contours high above the valley through Sanasa, before returning to Namche Bazaar where we spend the night
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
17 Day: Namche Bazaar – Phakding: We enjoy a leisurely departure from Namche Bazaar with a final opportunity to visit the shops in the bazaar before we descend steeply down to the large suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi. We follow the trail through Jorsale and back to Monjo where we take lunch. In the afternoon it is a short walk via Benkar through blue pine and rhododendron forest with great views of Kusum Kangaru back to our lodge in Phakding
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
18 Day: Phakding –Lukla: Our last day of trekking is only a short walk along the valley before we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla. We will take lunch at our lodge and the afternoon is free for you to wander around, relax or perhaps have a hot shower
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
19 Day: Lukla – Khatmandu: We rise early in the morning to be ready for the arrival of the aircraft, for the flight back to Kathmandu. We will be met at the airport and transferred to our Hotel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
